"I found Kris on Angie's List and contacted him for a quote when I decided to re-do my kitchen. He came out promptly to give me a quote and impressed me then with the portfolio of photos of prior jobs that he had brought with him. I had previously purchased the tile and stone from The Great Indoors, but decided to find my own installer when their installation quote came in at more than $4,000.00. Kris' bid was very reasonable and he won the bid. Kris did absolutely magnificent work on a not-so-easy job. Because this was a kitchen that sees extensive use, I specifically wanted epoxy grout for ease of cleaning. Although I knew it was notoriously difficult to work with, Kris handled it with the ease of a master. The mosaic inserts were also cause for concern as some of the pieces were tiny, and I do mean TINY (1/4" x 1/4"), and to top it all off, I wanted them installed on the diagonal while the surrounding countertop tiles were installed straight, which called for lots of precision cuts. The difficulty didn't phase Kris--he installed them with ease. When it comes to tile and stone work, Kris takes it to another level: he is a true artist, not just a craftsman."

Kris Removed The Existing Kitchen Vinyl Floor And Laminate Countertop. He Installed 12 X 12 Porcelain Tiles On The Floor On The Diagonal, 6 X 6 Porcelain Tiles With 7 Semi-Precious Stone Mosaic Inserts Scattered Randomly On The Countertop, And Installed A Backsplash Of 1 X 2 Inch Onyx Tiles. All Was Grouted With Spectralock Epoxy Grout, And Oak Nosing Was Installed Along The Front Of The Counter To Conceal The Tile Edges.

Great Find! I Took A Chance And Found Kris' Tile Service Online After Doing A Google Search For A Tiler In My Area. Kris Promptly Returned My Call For An Estimate And Arranged To Look At My Project Three Days Later. The Tiler He Sent To My House To Do The Job Was Fabulous. He Was Meticulous In Laying Out The Tile And Making Sure That Everything Was Centered To The Space. This Was A More Difficult Tile Project As The Tiles Were Large Format Tiles With Several Metal Strips Laid In Between. The Tiler Was Able To Handle This With Ease And Quickly, But Thoroughly, Completed The Project In The Days Promised. Kris Is A Pleasure To Work With. Very Personable And Professional. Kris Installed 6" White Ceramic Tile And 1" Iridized Glass Tiles Around Our Bath Tub And Shower And Put In Grout And Sealed It.

Two Years Ago He Did The Backsplash And We Were Very Satisfied. This Time He Had To Remove The Old Tile In Our Shower (4'X8') And Replace It With Two Different Styles. The Removal Created Dust, But His Plastic Sheeting Kept It To An Acceptable Amount. He Put The New Tile In With Epoxy Grout While Being More Expensive, I Highly Recommend It For Damp Locations.

"Kris Tile did a great job on my kitchen backsplash. I had a very specific design in mind, and had purchased a special order of rhombus-shaped tile. The owner of the company is based in Chicago, and I was skeptical of having a quote done entirely over email, but after providing the measurements and photos of my kitchen and tile, I got a prompt and very reasonable quote, and they were able to start my job the following week. Tanner, the installer, was meticulous in his preparation of the space and planning of the tile placement, which really matters with the design I chose (no straightforward subway tile here!) We noticed an issue with slight color differences in the tile (manufacturer issue) soon after Tanner started placing them, but he was able to remove and salvage the already used tile, and solved the color issue by mixing all the boxes together. Tanner was great about checking in with me with questions and to make sure I was happy with the job, and worked hard to complete the project on time.
